Problem: I waste a lot of time surfing the internet. Sometimes I am doing useful, productive stuff, and sometimes I am killing time. Sometimes the former imperceptibly melds into the latter, until I am frantically clicking through my RSS reader, random sites, email, etc.
Idea: An app that monitors mouseclicks and keyboard strokes, alerting you when you are wasting too much time. There must be an inverse correlation between mouseclicking, as opposed to typing, and productivity. There must be a formula that will tell you you are messing around instead of working, before an hour passes and you’re wondering what you’ve been doing. Maybe speed of clicks or mouse gestures, maybe a proportion of clicking to typing, web browser to word processor.
