I just logged into Netflix and noticed a lot of changes due to badsegue’s  Netflix Queue Manager, a Greasemonkey script I had forgotten I had installed. I don’t why it feels so liberating to shuffle my queue, but I am looking forward to gettting The Queen, Futurama Season 1, Disc 1 and L.A. Confidential, three discs I don’t even remember adding to the queue.

I am writing a section of chapter on networked spectators, so I went over to Netflix to examine the “Community” features, clicked on “Watch Instantly” and discovered that they have a lot of TV shows, old and more recent, like The Office, 30 Rock,  Heroes, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Johnny Socko and His Flying Robot! I haven’t watched any yet, and I will try to resist for tonight, but could this be the arrival of the easily and immediately accessible TV archive we’ve all been secretly yearning for?
